Sorry to say it could possible be anything from an infection to Pink eye, a Sty, or even allergies or you might have gotten something in it.
I suggest that you use a eyewash and rinse your eye, if you don't have one you can have mum or dad run out and get some Johnson, no more tears baby shampoo. Using a drop of Johnson's, no more tears baby shampoo in a shot glass mixed with water, place it over you eye open and move the eye around. OH, IT WONT HURT. Recommended treatment.
If it's bacterial the shampoo will help in killing it. If its something in your eye you have a Good chance of getting it out.
If its anything else well you can wait a day and see if it goes away, if not get to a doctor, you don't want to go blind.!

It may well be all three suspicions are correct: Pink eye is a viral allergy / infection that is HIGHLY contagious and affects the eyes in the manner you describe. Rest and warm water washcloth applications work well for pink eye--but you also can see your doctor or ophthalmologist for treatment also.

You could have cut your eye, or it could be pink eye. I'd see a doctor if I were you. Good luck!
