Does it mean that the base will be split in two pieces?

Please don't tell me that it's a sofa because it's not. In the UK we have Divan beds and I wanted to make sure that they are beds which have the base split in two sections

Here's a UK link for divan beds. The base of the bed may or may not have drawers and it appears that there is an option of having the base in two pieces depending on the manufacturer. They do not have frames or footboards, just the headboard. Hope this helps you. This site only shows a Sealy with the split base, so if that is what you prefer, shop some other UK sites for "divan beds". Good luck.
In the US a divan bed could be considered a day bed, to lounge by day (thus, some calling it a sofa or couch) and sleep at night. So, this is where confusion lies.

It is a nice high bed with drawers built right into the bottom of the box spring. A pretty clever idea.
comes in all sizes from single 3/3 to queen 5/0 and has drawers built in the back on some models and on the sides in other models. Also comes with a wide assortment of contemporary headboards. I believe Divan is a brand name.

It is a couch that you put in the living room that looks like a bed... Sorta like a mattress on the floor with those cylindrical shaped cushions to lean against.. Divan is Persian in origin

Ok, so you folks in the UK might use different terminology. However, here in the US divan is used as a synonym for sofa or couch.

A divan is a sofa. So it's a sofa sleeper or sofa bed.

A COUCH MADE OUT INTO A BED. JUST TAKE THE CUSHIONS OFF AND THERE IS A HANDLE,PULL THAT OUT AND THE BED COMES OUT. IV GOT ONE. GREAT FOR COMPANY.

I think they are the lounge chairs that look almost like a sun lounger, except they are more expensive!
