my hair is naturally a dirty blonde.
and my dad is sorta overprotective, but not really.
and (if you were a parent) what would you say if I used my own money to get it done?

I know my mom wouldn't let me. (I'm not a parent) but i really like the style it has a rocker edge to it but without being over the top. I think if you toned down the red a little bit you parents might be more for it. And especially since you are using your own money thats shows maturity. Good luck and I hope you can get that done.

I think that's a great color. I would definitely let my 14 year old daughter have her hair done like that. The thing about hair dye is that it can always be dyed back to normal if there's a need, so it's basically harmless. As long as the color wasn't violating any school dress code rules, I'd let my daughter do it.

I personally hate that look.. but if my daughter wanted it and kept her grades up and was generally a good kid then what the heck? I'd let her get it. I don't see any reason to restrict a type of hairstyle for your child.
I would be more "protective" about the style of clothes she wears. (Some of the stuff 14 year olds wear nowadays is disgusting.)

Sure I would, and yes that is great color. Mom I think that there are so many things today that we have to battle our children over that we need to pick our battles wisely. Hair color is not permanent, she could wanna have things pierced or tattooed etc..... And that is really cute, and doesn't look to grown up. Good luck, do find someone that knows what they are doing to do it, doing this kind of coloring could go bad fast if you try it yourself.

I would (and have) let my daughter dye her hair like the picture. It actually looks good in my opinion. I believe hair dye is a good way to allow for choice and expression. it is not permanent (like a tatoo or piercings). I hope your folks give you permission, especially if you have your own money. it helps teach the value of a dollar and making choices.
good luck.

Yes I would.
Why? Two reasons.
1. It actually looks good. I see nothing wrong with that photo at all.
2. I pick my battles and hair is not one of the more important ones in life. So at 14, you can do whatever you want to your hair.

Actually, I think it is sorta cute : )
BUT as a Mom to 2 young girls, I can see why your dad is against it...
I think that 14 is a little young 9even if you have your own $$ to do it)
:)
Why not wait until you are 16 or 17...?
: )
Sorry, but even tho' it is a cute look, I think you are still a bit too young..
: )

sure why not. my parents let me die my hair similarly to that when i was 14. my parents have very good morals and everything, and they think its good for their kids to be able to express themselves. and those colors dont even go against school codes! the one thing my parents wont let me do is get my bellybutton pierced. its okay though, i decided against it anyway. O:)
