Sako TRG-42 in .338 Lapua.
Essentially the same rifle, but usually at a much better price.
Expect to spend at least the same amount on a quality scope.

look into f class guns these are guns that are used for competition 600- 1000yd shooting savage makes an affordable $1100 f class .308 tested with 10 different high end factory loads it was putting groups of 5 that could be covered with a quarter at 500 yds. it is a one shot bolt action. the marine scout snipers have used the m-40 since 1966, this is a souped up remington 700 before '66 they used a souped up winchester model 70 the model 70's standards dropped after '64. in the last few years the model 70 was made to the same exacting tolerences as the pre-64 model 70's and these are excellent guns if you can find them, which is increasingly more difficult as the factory tat made the model 70 closed it's doors a couple years ago. If you have a ton of money the gov't has started using .50s. I have a remington 700 sps tactical 20" bull barrel over moulded fiberglass stock free floated with an adjustable trigger it is a production tack driver and that only set me back a little over $500. the gun you listed is probably great the 338 lapua is one of the best long range cartridges out there. 50" is awfully long though I'd consider this for maneuverability. You can get great accuracy from any barrel over 18" the xtra length just adds velocity which is great if your target is out at 1100 meters but I can't shoot that far even if the gun can.

If your wallet can stand the hit that this rifle I would give some thought to building one. Take a Remington 700 rifle and contact JP Enterprise or a gunsmith in you area and get them to do a package deal upgrade for you. This will leave enough money left over to get a good reloading rig which is about mandatory for long range accuracy with what ever you get.

Buying something that good is a waste of money unless the government is paying for it directly. You'd be better off building your own rifle starting off with something less expensive, but using good parts. Say, start with a Savage 110 or Remington 700, a both good rifles. Put a good free-floating barrel, stiff stock(and then get it bedded good), and precision optics, and you'll be able to outshoot that.
I personally have a Savage 10FP police model, heavy barrel with a recessed muzzle crown, and a tactical mil-dot scope, and with good ammo it's easily capable of making eight shots in one hole inside of 200 yards, even with a crappy, pillar-bedded stock. Plus it's a little lighter and better balanced than the L96 I've handled before, or so I thought.
Oh yeah, I spent less than $1k to get this project rifle shooting good, and while I did some work to it myself, and also had a few lucky things come my way, it's still more reasonable for an individual to build their own accurate rifle than it is to buy one and expect it to be perfect out of the box.

Hummm I won't be able to tell you truthfully that it is a good rifle until I shoot it a few hundred times.
Send it to me with 500 rounds of ammo and I will extensively test it for you. If you are a NRA member I will do this for you FREE!

Just get a Persian Mauser 98/29 and have it fitted with a scope. Good to 1200 yards. And, you can afford to shoot it.
