Sounds like you're losing coolant.

Could be:
1. Leak in the radiator
2. Stuck thermostat, causing too much pressure to build and forcing coolant out the overflow.
3. Weak radiator cap, allowing coolant out the overflow.
4. You cooling fans aren't turning on and causing the coolant to overheat.


Don't drive it the temperature gauge is running high until you diagnose and fix the cause you can do some real engine damage by driving it overheated even for a very short time.
