In general all over the world, the richest people are the biggest polluters (at least when it comes to greenhouse gases) because they consume the most. (It doesn't matter if a factory is located in China if it's the people in Western Countries that buys the products.)
Don't get me wrong. I don't think it's wrong to be rich. But I hope we can turn the trend and make rich people more aware to use their money on more sustainable alternatives. That way they can become a driving force for new and better inventions.

In general everyone is the biggest polluter because the USA has a much bigger Ecological footprint than the rest of the World so most of America can be blamed. The American public really needs to step it up and help save the environment before its too late and the whole world will have to suffer.

If you "believe" the leftist in this country (USA), it's 'we the people'. Do the research and you may be surprised to see that it's been going on since the beginning of time. Let the liberals and Dems talk long enough are we the people will have nothing left, while those in the government still take it ALL.

We are--and we do it blindly w/out realizing it.
The new President will be given the challenge of:
1) pressuring American industry to create lower plant emissions that are 50 times lower than current levels.
2) Aggressively pursue the use of saltwater as a automobile and utility fuel source, letting go of American dependence on OPEC . The new President also must put on the pressure to American auto industry towards increasing H20 powered vehicles by 70 percent--each year for the next 10 years.
3) Pour in immense funding in ecological scientific research aimed at controlling global climate changes, reversing our pollution damage, restoring things to climatic levels seen 100 years ago.
4) Aggressively pursuing and maintaining engineering efforts to protect U.S. coasts from hurricane and tsunami damage, a costly challenge---but one far less expensive than rebuilding damaged city and residential areas.
Yes, we must find ways to control Mother Nature and our own damage to our planet.
