While everyone else is discussing what to do about climate change at the UN, Bush wants to hold a separate meeting.

You've only just figured out that one?

But if the USA was its own planet, there would be no air to breathe because of the Government's lack of CO2 emissions policy. And also Bush thinks the USA is special enough to be able to change meeting dates or not even want to pass a decent bill to lower CO2 emissions is beyond me. I'll be so glad when hes out.

What does it matter if Bush wishes to hold his own separate meeting? When did it become a crime to do things your way? In case you forget, we are our own country, and can make decision without oversight from other nations. You make it sound like he is refusing to have anything to do with global warming, period. This is not the case.

Concerning Dana1981's post.

You say, "It's all about PR. Bush wants to look like he's leading the way pushing for change, when in reality he's the one who's been holding the rest of the world back in terms of agreeing to greenhouse gas emissions." Bush isn't holding anyone back. Other nations of the world are not toddlers, who need the US to hold their hand in making decisions. If they are serious about making a change, they will do it with or with out our involvement. If they can't what does that say about them? Instead of agreeing on change and doing something, they do nothing, just because the US doesn't attend their meetings? So it's all or nothing? This goes to show that it is political, just not on our part. Any nation, that really cared, would do something regardless of weither anyone else agreed to join them.

He did not have much choice ,
far too many awkward questions could be asked .
just for once El Presidente showed some sense.
How could he explain the ethanol production for example.

Besides he is a component of the same body the UN is so he will get the details anyway
As far as different planets is concerned
may be he thinks he is still at home ,???

just kidding
mmmmm

Given Bush Jr. will probably go down in history as the most inept president in history, it's believed the man IS looking for America's best interests; he's trying to bring positive change in environmental aspects.

He's spoken of his support in alternative fuel source implementation---something I wouldn't expect an Big Oil man like him to do. It's speculated he's on the idea that NOW we must make efforts towards gaining control of climate change issues---take on Mother Nature, if you will--so our future will be better protected.

It will be most interesting to see what Bush Jr does once he retires from the Presidency.

Do you why the UN is in New York? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. What has the UN done to save the human race? Not a damn thing, check their charter, their history and hopefully the light will come on for those who 'think' is such a great organization.

There is a controversy over weather global warming is man made or natural. But what could it hurt to reduce pollution?
The Neo-Cons are only concerned with profits.
