I was 248 pounds and I have been starving myself for 2 weeks.. drinking nothing but cranberry juice and having soup... first week i lost 12 pounds... so i came down to 235... next week which is this week...... i'm still the same weight. What is going on? and why is that.

Also i stopped doing that i'm starting to eat 5 meals a day and healthier smaller portions. So you don't have to tell me i will die or become sick.

Just answer my question if you can. Thanks.

Good thing you stopped because starving yourself is not a good way to lose weight.
When you were starving yourself the first week your body thought a famine was coming so you lost 12 pounds. The weight was probably water not fat. When you want to lose weight you want to lose fat. Your body the second week has now concluded that there's a famine so it's storing as much fat and muscle as possible. That's why you lost no weight in week 2.
now that you're eating 5 meals a day is actually the better way of losing weight. you will become less hungry which will prevent you from overeating. Also eating 5 meals a day lets the body know that there is no famine so it starts letting itself shed the fat it's storing.
Just a small note. Because you starved yourself for 2 weeks you might gain 5 to 10 lbs the first week but it will gradually come off in weeks to come.

You initially lost weight, but your body went into shock. When you try starving yourself your body will react and start storing away calories and fat. If you want to lose weight your best bet is to start working out with weights and eating healthy. The more muscle you have in your body the quicker it will break down calories. Just continue to eat healthy and drink your water and you should start to lose weight again. This time it will be in a healthier way. Good luck.

Here's what my weight coach emailed me:

"Your metabolism is like a fire. What happens if you stop putting wood or fuel on a fire. It will stop burning! Well food is your fuel. If you stop or limit your eating you are lowering your metabolism and will actually cause yourself to gain weight back in the long run.
Eating the right type of fuel is important. That is why our program works, because we are not calorie, carb or fat counting. We are not portion controlling so you do not stop your metabolism. We eat the right foods so that you eat lots, and still speed up your metabolism to lose weight."

I am starting an online weight group with this coach. Would you like more information? lbhulleman@yahoo.com

Wow... this generation is a really screwed up one.

for the 10,000th time... STARVING YOURSELF IS NOT THE ANSWER. Heres why! When you starve yourself, after a certain amount of time, your body realizes that its not gonna get anything more than cranberry juice and soup... so it panics and stores EVERY single calorie it can get its lil hands on. Every teaspoon of fat, ANYTHING for it to pull energy from later... right before your organs shut down!

If you want to lose weight... eat smaller portions, healthier foods, drink WATER, but most importantly... exercise! its not logical to think that ONLY changing your diet is gonna make you burn calories or excess fat.

This is the problem with starving yourself. Any weight loss you experience will come back, and then some, when you start eating again. E-mail me if you'd like a healthy eating and exercise plan that will help you lose weight. It's too much to put here. It will take a while, but you CAN get there.

When you "starve" yourself your body begins to eat away at the fat content it has stored. The next time that you eat your body begins storing that and is actually worse for you. If you want some advice I recently wanted to lose some weight. I started eating celery, egg whites, and Chicken. I dropped 25 pounds in 3 weeks with mild excercising. You need to eat low carloie foods. A calorie is basically the rate at which your body digests food. Stuff that is higher is calories takes longer which means you are storing more. Celery and egg whites have "negative calories" because your body burns more calories digesting them then are actually in the food. You need to drink water water water! Water rids your body of toxins and fat!

u may possibly start gaining weight...........or you hit that weight shock plateau where ur body's in shock cuz u lost so much weight or are losing weight..... u just have to keep with it itll get passed that plateau. But the plateau might last for 2 weeks. Dont give up and be mad. Once u get over the plateau itll start coming off again.

Because you are obviously not burning up more calories than you are eating.

BTW eating basically nothing for two weeks sends your body into a starvation mode in which metabolism is slowed.

You've sent your body into starvation mode. Your body thinks no food is available so it's going to hang onto every single calorie that it possibly can.

You need to up your caloric intake, eat plenty of fruits, veggies, healthy whole grains and dairy.
