Most people use their google search bar & type in Ninja and then click on the related links till they find the info they are looking for. You may need to be more specific for what you are looking for such as ancient Ninja...

ask a ninja.
No, seriously... If there was a ninja around you, you would not know. You are not important for someone to have sent a ninja out to assassinate you.
If you do something stupid to the wrong person, you would probably have a contract out on you. That is the closest you will come to a ninja, or should I say, non-ja.
Ninja are not people who learned some fighting art and now want to teach. What everyone is learning out here is not ninjutsu.
It is McNinjutsu. You are all being taken.
After you learn all your so-called ninjutsu skills, who are you going to assassinate?
The last time I heard about the existence of ninja was during a news report back in the early eighties. A "japanese couple" committed suicide when they each smoked a cyanide laced cigarette after they failed in an attempt to blow up an airplane.
I forgot where it happened. I know I heard it though.
But seriously, get real.

Hi there
There are currently 3 organisations that teach ninjutsu they are the Bujinkan, Genbukan and the Jinenkan.
http://jinenkan.com
http://www.bujinkan.com/
www.genbukan.com
There are tons of books available but I would only recommend Hatsumi's as he is the current grandmaster of the only surviving ryu ha.
You can also try www.ninpo.org for historical documents such as the ninpiden, shoninki and bansenshukai. There is some English translation.
The best resource i have found which just about explains it all from start to finish and without any lies is a DVD called shinobi winds.
http://www.shinobiwinds.com/
and here is a list of some of the best books to buy
Ninja AD 1460-1650 by Stephen turnbull
History and tradition by Hatsumi
Understand good play by hatsumi/cole
the way of the ninja by hatsumi
Invisible assassins by andrew adams
Failing that find a good shidoshi 5th Dan or above in one of the 3 organisations mentioned.
Don't expect to find much written down about actual techniques as these can only be learned from an instructor.
Here is a list of most of the school kata not including Goton no Jutsu.
http://www.mbdojo.com/ryukata.html
The 80's did quite a lot of damage to the image of this art and you only have to read some peoples comments to see how its been misinterpreted.
If you want to ask serious questions try www.kutaki.org as this is where most of the high graded instructors hang out.
If you want to know all about UFC arts then give bullshindo.net a try
Best wishes

go to the bookstore and buy any book written by Masaaki Hatsumi or Stephen Hayes.
Hatsumi is the 34th grandmast of Togokure Ryu (ninjistu school) and Stephen Hayes is one of his better known students.
