Create a couple of bogus messages, so that by a cunning choice of how the messages are sorted, the problem message will be straddled by the two bogus messages.
Now select the upper message, hold down shift and select the lower message.
Now delete.
Hold down right shift & press delete to actually delete, rather than move to deleted items...

Right click and select Delete from the shortcut menu.

If this does not work do a Repair of the program. Click on the Help menu, then select Detect and Repair. If your Office files are stored on disk you will not need to provide the physical disk your Office programs came on. If your files are not located on disk, be prepared to insert the disk your Office applications came on. If you are unsure if your files are on disk, just have your CD ready to insert if prompted. If the prompt does not appear, they are stored on disk.

Hope this helps, good luck and have a nice day.
