You should do your own research but:
I shouldn’t divulge this but here goes:
Cain didn’t actually inherit the earth.
When they made up this story, they hadn’t a clue what Mesopotamia was, let alone the Middle East; you can forget about Texas.
No. The little piece of property, about 9 acres, on the river, called “the garden of Eden” by the story tellers, was speculation piece owned by a successful spice trader from Babylon. A schizophrenic couple were squatting on the property and they had two sons. The owner sent his people to remove the schizos and found that one son had killed the other so the guards ran off the three.
When the story tellers were just beginning the tale they tried to say that Cain went to a nearby village and married a wife but this was concocted to try and explain the illogic of the whole mess. Cain never did marry and late in life, about 30 something – folks did not live long in historical times as life was very difficult-admitted his homosexuality. If he had owned a closet he would have emerged from it.
All that “meek” stuff was designed to keep the peasants in line for inbred, incompetent inheritors’ of power to avoid being killed by disgruntled peasants, kind of like we are becoming here in the US under the dictator The Dubya.

Always love it when people asking Bible questions without ever having read any of it....
According to Genesis 5, Abel was replaced by a son named Seth. It list 10 generations of descendants from him (as opposed to only 7 for Cain). It also states that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters who are not named.
It also implies that Abel had descendants who would have taken revenge on Cain had he not been marked by God. Remember that Abel was nearly 130 years old when he was killed. Lots of time for children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren before he died. Though none are specifically mentioned in scripture.
Good was taking care of the situation. ou will find that he warned Cain in advance that sin was trying to master him. IT was that which caused God to reject Cain's offering. But in the end, God honored the pledge he had made to Adam and Eve at the beginning, that mankind was permitted to have "free will" - that is make his own moral decisions and then live with consequences of them. No different that what God is doing today.

Even a skeptic like myself knows better than that. As far as the Bible story goes, Cain killed Able and was cursed by God, Adam and Eve had other children and everyone is descended from their son Seth and one of his sisters, Noah is his descendant.
But of course its all bronze age myth and really doesn't matter.

First of all, it's usually spelled Cain. Secondly, this stuff didn't really happen, you know. Don't waste your time trying to apply logic to this; it's like asking why Cinderella's coach turned back into a pumpkin at midnight. I mean, wasn't that harsh? Why not at 1:00 a.m.?
