Good question!
The history of the Philistines is really neat.
Many anthropologists think that they may have been from Greece, Sicily, or the Italian peninsula.
They had iron weapons (the Hebrews were still using bronze) and very sophisticated armor.
The Hebrews kept trotting out the Ark of the Covenant saying that they could not lose a battle with its power on their side; then they would get beaten by superior arms and armor. The Ark would get taken away, and they would have to ransom it back.
PS: There is some indication that the Philistines intermarried with the Hebrews and other populations in the area. Goliath was apparently distantly related, at least by marriage, to David's family. The Philistines may have died out, married out, or moved out because they did not have a supply of iron tools to replace theirs when they were broken or lost.

He didn't, No mention of Goliath having anything at all to do with the ark in scripture.
The ark was captured and returned by the Philistines prior to any mention of Goliath. While the improper touching of the actual body of the ark could kill a person, it could be safely carried by the two poles attached by rings to the sides of the ark.

Anybody whot knows tha bible kin tall you how he done it.
He waited until 3:30 in the am. If you know anything about covert opps you know that 2AM is certain death for the assault team. Any guard, worth his salt, can stay awke until 2 – 2:30.
So, Goliath’s team went in at about 3:30 when Noah’s squad were beginning to doze. A couple of flash bangs and some pepper spray and nobody needs to die before the flood. Hell. God was going to kill everybody anyway.
The puzzle is, where the Hell did Goliath’s people hide the Ark?
Thast there bes a kunnumdr, us, cunondr, uh, connundu, uh hard thang ta figure out.

Goliath had nothing to do with it.
See 1 Samuel 4. The Israelites were fighting against the Philistines. Because of a lack of faith, they were defeated and the ark was taken.
The ark was carried by two poles, one on either side, which were run through hoops. The poles were to be supported on the bearers' shoulders.

This is impossible as Goliath, was a giant, but yet only human, the ark would have been impossible to stael acording to the size and weight of it. Even if it was chopped up or tooked apart, it would have taken men months to take it all away, let alone one man. This is not in the bible, and does not state anything about Goliath being any where near the Ark. You must have been miss-informed, or read something wrong.

Are you asking about Noah's Ark or the Arc of the Covenant? Either way you have your stories mixed up. Goliath did not steal the Ark.

He never stole the Ark, because many years after Goliath's death, the Bible still speaks of conserving part of the Ark. Goliath got killed by David, so he obviously couldn't have done it.

Goliath didn't steal the Ark. The Ark was what Noah built. You must be talking about the Arc. I will get back to you later with an answer If I am right in the meaning of Ark and Arc. Please email me if I am.
