1000...no actually the 1500 is a half ton truck and the 2500 is a three quarter ton truck.

The bodys are the same the rest is all difference>Light duty 1500 heavy duty 2500> And $3000 to $20,000 difference in the price>>

hmmmm, first time I can add much to dodgemans comment...
there is quite a bit of difference between the suspensions between the 1500 & 2500 as stated,
likewise, the spindles & axles are heavier duty as well, heavier hubs, bigger brakes, heavier drive shaft on the 2500 too.
also, the Cummins Turbo Diesel is NOT available in the 1500, only in the 2500 & 3500 (in the light truck chassis). these grow on up in the 7000 lb (or higher) category, but likewise the GVRW goes up as well.

I would also like to add the frames are bigger on the 2500
The 1500 frame is 4.5' the 2500 is 6' and the 3500 is
8'

a 1500 is regular gas and is a tad bit smaller and a 2500 is diesel and the suspension is bigger and other parts as you would expect on a bigger truck

the only real noticeable difference is the suspension system on them,one is a half ton truck,and the other is a 3/4 ton,there's about a 1000 pounds difference in the two as far as what they will haul safely,both are good trucks one has a larger hauling capacity,that's about it,good luck with it.

the enitre chassis and drivetrain is different.
heavier duty axles, taller and stiffer frame, stronger tranny, bigger motors, springs, axles, and driveshafts.
