Jehovah's Witnesses understand the bible to teach that lying is condemned by God. Depending on the circumstances, a baptized Jehovah's Witness can be expelled from the faith for lying.

This question has a rather unfortunate turn of phrase. I'm sure the Asker did not mean to imply that ALL JWs and Mormons lie, but that some of their teachings are lies when compared with what the Bible says.

It's largely a matter of interpretation as to whether any given belief is a lie compared to what the Bible unquestioningly says. For example, some say God created the earth and everything in it in six days. Others say God created the earth BEFORE the first 'day' of creation began. And then they differ on how long those 'days' were. This isn't a case of anybody lying, but 'reading' scripture differently.

However, I do have reservations about the JW Governing Body's fluid teaching on blood treatments, and some of their points of translation. And the LDS treatment of its founders' doctrinal statements raises more than just my eyebrows. Misinformation and disinformation are the same as lies, no matter how cunningly presented, and I suspect both groups' leaders are guilty but that will not stop me reaching out to individual JWs and Mormons, giving them, personally, the benefit of the doubt. They are almost always utterly sincere. Christians should be charitable in their dealings with people who may indeed be deceived themselves, unwittingly, without being 'the deceiver' the Bible warns us against.

Last point - JWs and Mormons actually have some similarities of doctrine, eg their mangled views of the Trinity, of meritorious works, of another gospel, and the extra-biblical nature of their respective founders' writings and status.

Um, what? Well people at times lie because, sadly ALL humans make mistakes. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses. I can tell you that as a general rule, we don't lie. The reason that our beliefs are not always the same as the beliefs of others, is kinda simple, we believe differently than others, of other groups.

If there some specific teaching you have trouble understanding, feel free to ask.

So it is a lie that Jesus will rule the earth after Armageddon and will restore this planet and will eliminate famines(Psalms 73:16) will heal all illness (Isaiah 35:5-6) will resurrect people (Acts 24:15 and John 5:28-29) .

Cause that is the message that JWs preach in 238 countries around the world.

is that is false.. then can you tell me why is false? Please with the bible.....
and then what will happen with this planet after Armageddon?and what will be the conditions of this planet during the 1000 years kingdom?

in my country Mormons go to certain house I don´t know the rule to select which one but JWs go to ALL the houses.

Curly sue : prove that is a lie what I wrote in the previous lines, can you?
what is what you call "truth"?

I don't know that they blatantly lie, I think that most of them don't fully know the history or doctrines of their church. They only know what is in their lesson manuals and Book of Mormon. When teaching a lesson they are only to use the lesson manual, nothing else. It seems like they are spoon fed their religion, they really aren't allowed to look outside for answers to any concerns they have about the doctrine. This way the church controls what the members see, read and know about the church.

It doesn't surprise me

Many religions tell lies - actually, if you consider any of them to be true, it means all the rest are telling lies

EDIT:
Miss Vegas: in my country mormons go door to door

Actually, Mormons don't go door to door. They will only come to your front door if you call your local LDS church and schedule an appointment. Just thought I'd clear that up.

But yes, you're right. They both tell lies.

EDIT: inat...she wasnt talking about jews. She was talking about Jehovahs Witnesses..

Have you stopped beating your husband?

Have you stopped selling crack?

These and other unfair questions have a lot in common with your question.

Mormons are taught not to lie and the few JW I know are taught not to lie.

Good luck with you life

Maybe some examples would be helpful. I did the door-to-door for two years. (Yes, we do go door-to-door, at least in most countries) I don't ever recall lying, at least intentionally.

I once had a fundamentalist ask me for money so her church could provide tents for the victims of the tsunami. When I discovered that they were actually going to use the money to go over there and proselytize, I asked her why she lied to me.
She said it was "for the greater good".
I guess the people you are talking about use the same rationalizations.
