Hi, has anyone been on a cruiseship to the USA?

Im going on one in a weeks time and visiting Bar HArbour, NewPort Rhode Island, Norfolk Virginia, Charleston and JAcksonville.
Please can you tell me which of these are good for shopping? I want to get some clothes and visit 'real' american shops like Abercrombie ands visit a supermarket like Publix os Target (because i want to buy some Hershey kisses!!)

So which are the best?

And what else can you reckon to do in each port??

Thankyou!!!!!!! MUCH appreicated!!.. i'm a shopaholic!!
Remember it cant be too far away from where the ship docks, because i'll be getting a taxi or the shuttle bus

Bar Harbour is a small town and when we were there last year on a cruise all that was there was small shops. Newport, RI is about the same, a small town. Charleston is known for its old southern US charm but you may be able to find a Target there .I do not know how far these are from the cruise port but you can ask and/or ask a taxi driver how much:

1300 Long Grove Dr
Mount Pleasant, SC 29464
(843) 388-1973

and

2070 Sam Rittenberg Blvd
Charleston, SC 29407
(843) 763-0756

Jacksonville is also a big city that will have shopping and on all of the cruises I have been on the cruise director's staff usually gives a talk on where to go shop.

Now for the shopaholic Norfolk MAY provide a great opportunity. About an hour from Norfolk is Williamsburg, Va and in Williamsburg they have outlet malls galore and also the pottery factory which is really a place where you can but whatever you want, from a kitchen appliance to a pair of shoes. So if your ship is in port long enough for and/or offers trips to Williamsburg. THAT is the place to go.

Hello from an American. To be honest, the whole country is full of 'real American Shops' You will have no problem with your shopping list. I would probably lean toward Norfolk for the majority of it as Charleston is more known for its quaintness. The do have boutique type shops tho so you may find something a bit different. Hershey's kisses are available everywhere!! Even Target. Have fun! I love Cruising!! And used to be a travel/cruise agent...American/Agent/Cruiser...how could you go wrong?!

There aren't any shops near the Jacksonville Cruise Terminals. Fares tend to be expensive here also.
