Perched on top of the firmament, over the flat earth, like the Bible says.

Bandycat5,

I thought I warned you about reading and thinking. Was the allegory of the snake and Eve lost on you?

Heaven is where it always was, in the mind of the true believer.

When the time is 900 BCE and you are making up a story, you work with what you have. I doubt that us moderns can blame a 10th century BCE writer for a simplistic if illogical story that sounded pretty good at the time.

To the ancients, heaven was where the sun, Moon, lightening, and thunder was. If you think about it; it’s logical that heaven is straight up. They didn’t know that at night straight up was straight down. They didn’t know that is we manage to reach an altitude above out atmosphere we would immediately freeze just before we exploded.
God didn’t know anything about the solar system, space or particle physics. How could she? God only knew what the ancients knew and that was not very much.

Maybe heaven really is “where the heart is”!

Those who accept the teachings of God's word will not be wholly ignorant concerning the heavenly abode. Human language is inadequate to describe the reward of the redeemed. It will be known only to those who behold it. No finite mind can comprehend the glory of the Paradise of God. Heaven is real. It is a country, God's country. The garden of Eden was a miniature of Heaven. There are most beautiful houses and lands there, beautiful animals and birds and flowers that never fade. Heaven is a continent. This is where God's headquarters are. God is the prime minister if you will and the angels are His ministers. What is mind boggling though is that when God makes the new earth, the New Jerusalem will come down from Heaven and this City will become the centre of the universe because God's throne will be there and the redeemed will sit with Christ at the right hand of God to rule the universe. There are unnumbered worlds throughout immensity.

Where are the Sun and the Moon?

Are they above or below the the Heaven, that you have understood till now?

I will tell you where is Heaven.

Heaven is on the lap of your beloved Papa where you probably sat sometime back savouring an icecream with chocolate toppings and watched the Circus joker as he went on with his antics to make you feel happy. You felt secure with your papa and delighted with the performance of the Circus Artists. Right?

Heaven is on the tender touch of your mother when you fell down and scraped your knees and she gently rubbed it clean with an antiseptic lotion and said "Don't worry sweetheart. Mommy's here to take care of you."

Heaven is on the protective feelings of your brother when he stands up against a dude, who makes passes at you, that you do not like.

Heaven is on the feeling of love and fulfillment that you feel when you are making love to the one of your choice and you get that feeling of completeness and contentment, in your heart , which you are unable to put into words.

Finally, heaven rests right within you because its you who can make yourself happy by sharing a gentle smile with the worst of your associates thereby converting the associate into a good friend.

Heaven is like a feeling of ecstacy that you feel within yourself when you can extract a smile or a blessing from someone, with a good deed, but, without looking out for any reward.

You are born with the capacity and aptitude to create your own Heaven or Hell.

The choice and options are entirely your own.

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

God,--- ( who we insiders call " Big Thunder #1,#2, and #3"), doesn't want to let the word out just yet.
He's kind'a secretive like that. He's very fond of playing 'hide & seek' , ' who's got the button', ' I've got a secret', and other sneaky games like that. His biggest blast was when he talked to Moses from inside a burning bush. He still cracks up, giggling, about the look on Moe's face that day.---He's really a fun-guy ( unless he gets in the mood to ' smite ' somebody who ticks him off ).
But don't ask too many questions about 'you know where'. This kind of info. would be worthless anyway unless you know the password, and secret hand shake.

Few people like myself remember being in heaven once before being born into this lifetime. I remember at least two past lives also. Some of us never forget. Regardless of whether you think I'm crazy or lying, heaven resides in a parallel dimension that we only can get to once our spirit leaves our body above earth between here and the moon.
