Hmm, it's a different thought.

I know that if I actually believed in a deity... I'd wish with everything in me that the Christians were wrong. Their sky daddy is freakin' insane.

Yes.

Many people do believe that there is a God, but they try and live as they want in the hope that when they are judged, that they can plead ignorance.

This does not apply to only non-Christians, but to Christians that only want to acknowledge and obey some of God's commands. They also are hopping to plead ignorance on the judgment day.

Yes. Human beings are very often conflicted about their thoughts and emotions. Doctors can have antigay prejudices, but they can still treat gay patients. Similarly, atheists might believe in God, but they're consciously reject that belief as ridiculous and act correspondingly.

yeah i believe so. if someone believes in God, but knows their lifestyle doesn't coincide with that belief, they may hope their belief is wrong.
