I don't know if this answers your question, but your question made me thing of this...

Our national animal in Canada is the hard working "busy" Beaver, which has to chew through wood to keep it's teeth from getting too long, and uses those felled trees to build amazing natural dams that enhance our ecosystem.

BUT these animals, who are treasured in Canada, are somehow spreading to South America, where they are considered PESTS, "destroying the local habitat".

Natural selection.?

One nation's treasure is another nation's curse!!!
