Who invented ridding and what did they ride? Camel, horse, elephant, etc?

I thought Abel was described as a sheppard?!

There is no specific mention of the domestication of animals in the scripture. They first appear, already domesticated, in the story of Abraham in the middle of Genesis. There is also a reference in Genesis 4:20 to a great granson of Cain named Jabal, who is credited with being the first to keep a flock of animals. But that is not the same as riding them.
