Yes I know it's an odd question but I'm forced to write a fire safety plan for my family. We live in a one bedroom downstairs apartment with one entry door. What should the plan consist of? I"m totally lost if it should enclude a drawing as well.

Other than get out anyway you can, ei front door or window and meet across street in neighbors front yard what else is there??? My sons are 13 and 2 yr old

1] scream to wake everyone up
2] if you see smoke, get on the floor and crawl
3] don't open doors without feeling the wood first - if warm, don't open door
4] get the PEOPLE out, only the people - nothing else is worth your life!
5] teach older son how to open or break window
6] EVERYONE meets across street at neighbor's mailbox [ you are safe, out of the way of emergency vehicles, and easy to count heads ]

Consult your local fire dept. Ask to speak to someone in fire prevention.
