And if she needs to throw her a bachlorette party.. what are some ideas that she could do for a party.
Note: Both my friend and the one that is getting married are NOT yet 21 and neither drink anyways.

The bachelorette party is usually the MOH's responsibility, but it doesn't have to be the cliche' drunken bash. It could be a little get-together for the girls at one of their houses for a night of chick-flicks and games, or even a pool party with some virgin daiquiris (a friend of mine did the latter for her bachelorette party because she wasn't big on drinking or clubs).

Anyone who wants to throw the bride a shower can throw her a shower. It's not necessarily one of the MOH's duties, but if she wants to, she can.

The MOH also makes sure the bride is happy. If the bride happens to be a bridezilla, this could be a big problem. Basically, the MOH makes sure she can help out in any way possible, i.e. helping pick out bridesmaids dresses, going with the bride to pick out her wedding dress, giving the bride opinions and advice when she asks for it... That sort of thing.

On the day of the wedding, she's the main person who makes sure the bride is cool, calm, and collected. Tell your friend to let others involved in the wedding know that if there are any last minute problems on the big day, to come to HER and NOT the bride as she's nervous enough as it is. This way, the MOH could figure out a way to handle whatever the problem is without the bride even knowing there WAS a problem!

The MOH also makes sure the bride's train to her dress is straight and holds the bride's bouquet during the ceremony.

Good luck to your friend in being the MOH! ♥

Best advice just have a girls nite the night before the wedding and all of you guys just watch movies and bug out being that you can't drink and party! God bless your girlfriend seems like they are entirely to young to get married they should be preparing college and experiencing life not being so serious so young!!

Here is a list of maid of honor duties from theknot.com: http://www.theknot.com/ch_article.html?Object=AI980914211009 She will not necessarily be doing all those things, depending on the wedding.

BTW, a bachlorette party doesn't have to be a wild night on the town drinking. It can be a day at the spa or a girls' slumber party, for instance. It can even be a field trip to someplace you guys have always wanted to go.

she should be planning the shower and bachelorette party. She will also need to do any other odd job that the bride needs her to. Being a maid of honor can be a lot of work and cost a lot of money. Make sure she knows that before committing.

The only obligation the maid of honor has is to serve as witness to the wedding.

She needs to talk to the bride as only she and her groom know what exactly they want her to do.

MY maid of honor's only responsibilities are to make sure we all eat and drink (water) so we don't pass out at the ceremony, and stand up beside me in the wedding, and help with my veil/train.
