Why do we have such a problem with illegal immigration? Why would minorities or poor people from countries like Mexico want to risk their lives to come here just to face more discrimination and oppression?
Why would anybody bother to come here to live if the United States is as bad as the ant-American crowd makes it out to be? If you believe the mantra of many left leaning liberals/socialists, the United States is a racist, intolerant country where the rich and powerful take advantage of downtrodden minorities and poor people. According to them, there's mostly only justice for wealthy white people. People become successful not by hard work and education, but by cheating and taking advantage of those weaker than themselves.
I know this country is far from perfect, but to listen to many of the liberal extremists, the United States must be a horrible place to live. But apparently immigrants, both legal and illegal, must not be paying any attention to them.

A lot of reasons. Even though mestizos and Indians are a bigger fraction of the Mexican population than whites, they are still discriminated against there. I've heard some people claim that there's less discrimination against illegals in America than against Indians in Mexico. Regardless of that, though, a lot of people are willing to ignore a few racists in order to make a lot more money. Most racists in America are now at the bottom of society, so they are not really in a position to affect anyone else's quality of life through any means other than violence, and most of them aren't so committed to racism that they're willing to go commit acts of violence for it.

Many illegals are only here to work and once they save enough money they send it to their families back in Mexico.
Many do not have plans on living here for ever. So they put up with all that stuff because even at minimum wage its better then $10 a week in Mexico!

As Washington Irving wrote nearly 200 years ago, each day in America is a refutation of the negative stereotypes europeans hold of Americans.

The problem with America is that half of the people think that they are ENTITLED to thier rights, and the other half think that they still HAVE rights. In reality, niether is true.
The immigrant problem has nothing to do with freedom, by the way. It's purely financial. If your kids are starving, freedom is the last thing on your mind. These people don't care about our politics. They want money.

People come to the US for opportunity. Regardless of racism or all the other things you mentioned the US is a place where people have a chance to be above all that. And that is why people come here.

Because it's not. One of the Malcom X gang members finally admitted in prison that this country treats blacks better than any other country. The people that scream it just want reparations. It's all about the money.

We have a great country with great citizens.
What we have are bad politicians, that try and enact bad policy and attempt to govern every aspect of our lives.

Liberals are pretty much worthless scumbags who think they have all the answers, but when you ask them to come up with their own answers to problems, all they do is blame others and come up with lame excuses.
Many Liberals have lived sheltered lives and don't understand what is going on in the world.

Illegal aliens spit on our laws, our country, and its citizens. They come here for their own selfish reasons and to suck off our social services
They don't care that we don't want them in our country. They say they are here, aren't going anywhere, and there's NOTHING we can do about it.

It isn't that the country as a whole is racist,
just that a few lynch mobs like yourselves are the racists.
