i think its a good start since soooo many americans say they get hit by illegal that dont have drivers licenses, insurance(which they can get no matter what). Plus for the bad apples out there they will have a photo in the system that can be tracked.

If the Feds can't or won't do anything about it they might as well have some idea of who is here.Let them have licenses and get insurance etc.Better than driving around uninsured,unlicensed,unregistered and no known address in my opinion.Not to mention they also now have a photo to go by if needed.Better than putting out a warrant with only a description that could be thousands of people.

Lol, exactly, that would mean they would have to pay for a license and insurance. That's the whole point of them being here illegally is so they don't have to pay for anything. Anything other than deportation, and punishment for employers who knowingly hire these people, will not work.

The government claims they can't find the illegals to deport them, but they can give them drivers licenses, free education, health care and the right to vote. Maybe we should all change our names to Pedro.

hmmm, if these illegals are so poor, like everyone says, how will they be able to afford the insurance.The insurance company will have a real mess, trying to keep up with the ones, who are getting deported.
