my husband & I have a childbirth class to go to tomorow, and it lasts from 6-8:30. we're supposed to bring out own dinners, and i work until 5:30, so we'll barely have time to grab it & take off to class. What can I make? something that doesn't require utensils or reheating would be great!! (and something healthy! protein needed!! & my husband hates veggies.)

THANKS!!!

I was reading other people's answers, and, well, Sloppie Joes are messy, as well as taking a hot bowl of Chili.

If you have access to a microwave, the easiest meal would be a frozen dinner. But, you need a fork and a table to eat it at.

I personally would go for a sandwich... either stop and buy one, or make one in advance. There's a ton of varieties you can make. Try turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. This is so easy and it keeps well for 24 hours.

Good luck.

tuna sandwich on wheat/rye or any fiber rich bread. spread: mix canned tuna, cream cheese, pesto with low fat mayo. I usually add a bit of chopped garlic, red bell pepper and parsley. you can put it in a small plastic container and put in the freezer the night before. prewash and cut the onions, tomato, lettuce. put in a ziploc. I only put the spread and veggies when I'm about to eat them. Everyone loves it! Even the kids! no need to add the veggies for your husband. Bring a disposable plastic knife. You can mix everything and put in the fridge the night before but I find the sandwich yummier when freshly made.

You could make up some sub sandwiches the night before then put the dressing on them before you go to class.
Get a loaf of crusty bread , some good cheese, and a few deli slices of salami, and just have a snack.

You could try making a nice chili? That would satisfy your need for protein and your husband's hatred of veggies. Oops, didn't see the whole no utensils/no reheating thing. Yeah, sandwiches would be a good idea.

I would cook something in the crockpot while I am at work and when you get home you can just put it in a bowl and go. Chili would work out fine. It should stay hot (or atleast be warm) until you eat it two hours later.
