Unfortunately Not... All the information that is shoved down our throats is either miss-directed information or is there to get us to buy something.
The best areas for health issues are those that are none profit making, either medical or government supported agencies.
The other factor is down to the human body; each of us is different so what works for one person will not necessarily work for someone else.
When it comes down to it the cosmetic industry have the monopoly on confusion. Which they rely on to sell their products.
A dermatologist (Hospital) is the only person who can best advise you on the best skin care. He has no axe to grind, just sound medical advice.

I can't speak to beauty care.
But, you're right, many books about health and wellness have an obvious bias, and many of them are filled with apocryphal testimonials about various health regimens and worthless nostrums.
This much you should know. Keep your weight under control. Exercise. Avoid excess saturated fats. Pay attention to the revised food pyramid. Get enough fiber in your diet. Find a good doctor and dentist, and go for periodic check-ups. Don't smoke. Practice safe sex, preferably with a faithful spouse. Consider a yearly flu shot.
I may have omitted a few things, but most of the rest is window dressing.

Science and medical information changes on a daily basis and it does make trying to get information confusing.
Basic tips:
Eat more fruits and vegetables and drink water
Don't smoke/drink in moderation
Wear sunscreen
Get a yearly psychical
Go to the dentist at least 2 a year
Try to get 30 minutes of exercise a day
Try to stay within your weight limit
You can also check www.webmd.com for other basic tips. Good luck remember you only live once so try and have some fun.

Yes - and its all rubbish. We have all heard of health gurus who have died young and smoking drinking folk who wouldn't touch a carrot and have lived to ripe old age.
Best advice - do what you want to do AND enjoy every moment of it. If you like drinking 3 litres of water - do it, if you prefer a bottle of wine do it.
And always remember the beauty industry is big business - they will tell you a ginseng and plum facial cream will make you look younger because it makes sales. Soap and water is just as good.

I read everything I can, but only pay attention if it makes sense to me. If I think it will help me and I can do it, I try it. but, yeah, eat a well balanced diet with proper portions, drink plenty of water, and get at least 30 minutes exercise every day.

yes there is so much research being done, they are always changing their tune.
as people have said before, the only things that seems to stay consistant are -excercise
drink plenty water,get enough sleep
eat your fruit and veg.
It would be impossible to do everything they say,I used to bother about it all,I dont now.
