We have lived in this Neighborhood for the past 14 years, along with 4 other surrounding Neighbors. The new, rental move on's, have lived here for about 6 months and they have called the cops on us 3 times because of our dogs barking. Now, when I mean barking. I mean anywhere from about 10min. to 40 min. They are little Pomeranian puppies just running around having fun. We are fed up with policemen coming to our door every 2 weeks, and when the cops do eventually come. They hear no dogs barking, not our dogs. Not any of their neighbors or ours. *The people on the opposite side also have about 4 dogs, who bark as well* And when the cops come, they tell us they don't hear anything and will leave a note on the report saying there was no sounds. So, what can WE do to stop this? It's really annoying and redundant to have cops coming. any suggestions?

Also, my dogs don't bark at night. They have never barked after 8pm. That's their sleep time anyways, they usually bark around 2pm. We live in a very noisy neighborhood. We live behind a grocery store so a lot of trucks pass by and ALL *meaning other peoples dogs as well* dogs bark.

when your little puppies start yapping continuously bring them inside.
In all seriousness, living beside a person with a barking dog is extremely annoying and exasperating. A barking dog will ruin any sense of privacy and joy that comes from a backyard.

I have a canine and if we left her unattended within the outside she would bark her head off.. It can be what she does.. We had to get a bark collar for her so we would depart her outside and not be a nusiance... It's demanding having barking dogs and we failed to want to be these kind of neighbors.. She's so used to wearing it that the battery has died but, she does not comprehend that.. She thinks so long as she's wearing it that she will have to'n't bark ! We also had neighbors that had dogs that barked regularly regularly at night and once we were trying to get the child to sleep ! UGH..Stressful... I might call the cops too !

You can move or get rid of your dogs. Let's face it: Some people will only be happy when dogs never bark. The only question that comes to mind is this: When are the dogs barking? Are they barking after 10:00 at night? If so, most cities and townships have noise ordinances where dog owners can be cited by the police if their dogs are barking. Other than that, I can't think of any reason why the police would respond -- usually they say "Have you talked to the owners about this?"

You didn't happen to mention what time of the day or night this is happening. You may need to try to see things from their perspective. We have a neighbor that has a dog that barks in spurts of anywhere from 10 min. to an hour. Most of the time it's not a big deal, and we do our best to ignore it (even though it unnerves my little girl when she is outside playing), but it even more irritating when it is bedtime and I can't get my five year old to go to sleep because the dogs are keeping her up. I have never called the cops, but I sure wanted to! If you can, try to keep them quiet early in the morning, and around the time small children go to bed. Also, the fact that they are renting shouldn't really have anything to do with it. They deserve peace and quiet just like someone who owns their home.

Dogs are not allowed to bark that long. You don't deny that they are barking. Neighbors have the right to complain to the police for noise -- whether dogs, parties, fighting, etc.
You need to control your dogs' barking. If there are too many complaints, and if the cops do come, and the dogs are barking, they will fine you for Disturbing the Peace.
Control the dogs, get rid of them, or move to the country. Those are the only ways to stop the complaints.

I also have a canines and if we left her unattended interior the outdoor she might bark her head off.. it rather is what she does.. We had to get a bark collar for her so shall we go away her outdoors and not be a nusiance... it rather is stressful having barking canines and we did no longer choose to be those style of associates.. She's so used to donning it that the battery has died yet, she would not understand that.. She thinks as long as she's donning it that she could'n't bark ! We additionally had associates that had canines that barked constantly regularly at night and as quickly as we've been attempting to get the toddler to sleep ! UGH..stressful... i might call the law enforcement officers too !

Either you can immediately stop the dogs from barking, in which case they can stay outside, or you can't stop them. If you can't stop them, then immediately bring them inside when they start to bark, right away. Do not wait ten minutes! Good heavens, that's awful to live next door to -- barking that won't stop. If you leave them barking outside, your neighbor will call the police, which is their right. You can own a dog, but your dog is not supposed to bother the neighbors.

They have the right to complain. Sorry to say it but it's true.
You admit that they can bark up to 40 minutes (and probably longer when you're not there) and that is considered excessive. If you don't do something about it, the one time those cops come up and hear it (after this many complaints) they can give you a ticket. Too many tickets can make it where a judge will tell you to do something or you have to get rid of them.

I am a dog lover & have a rescued dog. I love her to death, but I have lots of neighbors who work different schedules, sleeping at different times. I take her for frequent walks. If I let her out just to pee, she stays on the cable & when she barks I bring her inside. Almost all of my neighbors have dogs, & we cooperate by cleaning up after them & not letting them disturb anyone. Of course, there is always someone who doesn't act "neighborly." These people are reported regularly, not that it does much good. No one has ever complained about my dog making noise because I don't allow her to. Maybe you just need to train your dogs better, & be more in control of them, than them being in control of you. Good Luck & Blessings
