i first highlighted my hair when i was 14.

my mom didnt approve of me coloring my hair too, so we compromise on highlights. and it looks more natural, and awesome.

try to get a highlight that is a few shades lighter than ur original hair color. it looks fab, and i still prefer highlights (im 19 now) compared to coloring the whole head.

Let's see, you're living at home in your Mom's house, right? She is against you dying your hair. Until you convince her to let you dye your hair, it's not okay from a good relationship angle. However, it won't cause any lasting damage to your hair and may look really good. As long as you pay for the dye job yourself, go for it. Hair is just hair and will grow out.

both of you are right. i dyed my hair at 13 so it would be okay to dye your hair at 14. dont dye it too much at once and start with the 28 shampooing dye. get used to your hair being dyed and finding a great shade. if you have white hairs then its like having grey hairs that you want to avoid.

Go ahead and dye your hair. I know even some girls younger than you who dye their hair. If the white hairs are in the ends of your hair just get the ends trimmed!

yeah, I'm 13 and my mom let me dye my hair but thats just my mom everyones parents are different =) it was with a non permanent dye though lol. Maybe try getting one that comes out in about 12 washes just to make sure you like the color. or you can just gey highlights ^-^

good luck.

Mothers are always right.

Listen to your mom, she's been there, done that!

My sister has natural dirty blonde hair and she's been dying it platinum blonde since she was 14 (she's nearly 16 now) her hair is dry and frazzled and it costs a bomb on hair dyes every month.

I wish I had your mom.
My mother (upscale hair stylist) took me to dye/hi lite my hair when I was only in 5th grade.
At the time it looked great, and it helped that she herself was a stylist. But the upkeep and the frequent dye jobs took a toll on my hair. :(
8 years later and I'm trying hard to regain my healthy hair.
I mean, it looks great now but you'll get sick of dying it over and over...

Wait it out, you don't want to regret dying your hair.

Everyone has different hair so its hard to say...try and consultation with a hair stylist with your mom there. What about just highlights? It makes a big difference

use non-ammonia dye. ive been dying my hair since i was 10 and i'm now 18. your hair will get thinner but it wont turn white. however, dont change your color drastically... just do some highlights or go a shade or two lighter. you'll look ridiculous if you dye it too much.

it's fine. i started dyeing my hair when i was like 8/9. im now 17, ive dyed my hair from dark brown to blonde to black to light brown to blonde to red lol. its endless, but basically, my hair is still thick, silky, shiny and healthy. youre 14 and everyone needs to experiment.
