Why doesn't my media player play anymore?

I scanned my pc and after healing the virus it asked me to insert the xp disc as i lost other files unfortunately i do not have one.

Now my media player does not play anymore and when i try to install the other version it is giving me a message that i have it already.

try this:

Start, Run, SFC.exe /scannow

then try to run it or even install it once again.

Try to uninstall your current version. For normal you can make a "roll back" to the version which was installed first on your pc. But don't forget: After removing a heavy virus from your computer there can be a lot of files got lost from your operating system. Then it's always better to reinstall windows completely or use the repair option.

Try uninstalling the old version from control panel - Add\Remove programs and then reinstall it.

go to add and removep[rograms and delete the player then reload the new player also you nay need to reinstall your audio drivers
