I have known this guy for months and although there is obviously no romantic future for us as although I met him on a dating line, he isn't interested in any woman as he is too obsessed with his religion. He has told me he would help me with some things like finances, getting a better job, getting home from work when I don't have a ride (live in a bad area so I can't walk home at night and no I can't move), he has offered to help me find legal help for bancruptcy and everything but has done absolutely nothing at all. I don't expect anyone to just do stuff for me but if someone offers help, I expect them to keep their promise, especially when they call themselves christians. He keeps taking on more stuff to do and as a result has lost several big sales in his job due to his lack of concentration while he is out saving the world (he has a soft spot for sex offenders and drug addicts). On top of this he brings parolees into his home around his 2 young children.

If I had a dollar for everytime he said he was going to call, I'd have alot of money now. He was going to write a letter of recomendation for me to get more hours at my job (even though I told him that corporate is cutting hours and they aren't going to change for him) he has spent a month working on it and keeps saying he will have it for me but he has been saying that for weeks. He can't even keep that promise. I would like to know what others think of this type of person as to me he reminds me of politicians who make promises to everyone and then forget those promises when they get in. No political opinions just an example because he seems to take on everything and do nothing.

Sounds like you're not his top priority and that he has trouble organizing his life.

These kind of people are a waste of time. They are inconsiderate, rude, and liars. Stay away from him, he is NOT going to change, and you know it. I am not religious at all, but I keep my word. Religion does not necessarily mean anything.

I pray God help him do what he can and lighten his load.I also pray he can remember to help you and not make too many promises.
It appears he is taking on too much.Be patient with him and ask him (nicely) not to promise you so much.Ask him to only take on what he can really help with.
