Dear Jasmine,

You are getting a lot of mixed and wrong information here. I work with dermatologists, medi spa, and plastic surgeons all over the Midwest.

First body acne is the worst. I have experienced it myself, so I totally sympathize. This type of acne is usually caused by bacteria. There are ways to bring it back to balance.

Do NOT use Proactive, or any wash/treatment that has an unstable form of benzoyl peroxide. You must find a wash/treatment with stable and time released form of benzoyl peroxide for it to be effective and not burn the skin.

Also there are products that you can take internally that can kill the bacteria that cause acne. These are not prescription based products, so you do not need doc and they do not have the harmful and unpleasant side effects that other prescriptions for acne have.

Also I would hold off on back/body facials, because they are going to recommend a series of them, which may or may not be effective. For the cost you can get quality products at home that WILL help.

If you would like a few product recommendations I would be happy to help you, but need just a little more info.
What are you doing right now for your acne both internal and external?
What treatment creams have you already tried?
How old are you now?
How long have you had acne?
Do others in your family have or did they have acne?

You may need to clean your bowels! Seriously, a lot of acne problems come from not going to the bathroom enough. Also drink more water, eat more fruit and try taking some evening primrose oil, you can find it at any drug store, primrose oil is known for clearing up acne.

These areas with acne are signs that this acne is one that topical treatment alone won't fix. You need a medication for the problem in your body. See a doctor who can prescribe you a drug for this. It's more than you can do alone.

Swimming a few times a week, if not every day, helps however.

The best way that I have found is also the easiest. Go to the store and purchase a big bottle of Alcohol and cheap wash cloths. Wash your chest and back with straight alcohol in the morning after your shower and when you get home from work or school. Use it on the neck as well. Then after it dries put on Moisturel lotion. You can get the moisturel at walgreens. I have been doing this for years and I also put on benzyoil peroxide 10% with the lotion as well.

Good luck to ya!

try Proactive. it is the bomb. my 16 year old uses it too. i had tried just about everything on the market. then i saw the infomercial for proactive. i haven't had a breakout in over 2 years and my son has not either. their mask for your face really minimizes your pores also.
