Biblically speaking, there are several reasons:

1) God may have in mind to save such a sinner, and is very patient with them, not desiring them to perish. He shows His patience, mercy, grace, love, and forgiveness to such a person.

2) God often uses such a person to discipline His children; i.e. the "rod of His anger", etc.

3) God's purpose is to even allow such evils to abound so that when He finally does judge, His justice, wrath, and punishment will seen to be that more just.

4) Also, through the suffering of saints via persecution is the suffering of Jesus Christ seen. God could have called down a host of angels to destroy the enemies of Jesus when they harassed and crucified Him. But it was all part of God's plan...to even offer Himself a sacrifice on the cross for the sins of those who believe in Him.

5) All of the above, and all things, are for His glory. His love, mercy, grace, patience, justice, wrath, and power are all displayed in the various ways above...as a demonstration of His glorious character. And in one powerful moment on the cross, His mercy, grace, and love met His wrath, power, and justice. For in and through the cross, He pardons sinful people who believe in Him (mercy, grace, love) at the same time He punishes sin (wrath, power, justice).

Because the bible and Christianity and all religions are made up by man. Man has no idea what they are talking about--especially over 2000 (new testiment) to 5000 (old testiment) years ago. How can you base a belief on something written a long time ago that has been disproved by science for over 300 years? This is blind faith my friend. There is no "magic man" in the sky called God. That would explain why he doesnt bring judgement on those who harrass Christians. Even if there was a God, and he is all knowing, how come he didnt create man to automatically believe in him and why the hell doesnt he prove his existence. If there happens to be a God and I am at the pearly gates--I will just tell him you didnt offer me enough proof. I think he would understand. But in reality, these are just myths made by mankind to control people. Man is inately good and programmed to make love and making this a sin is rediculous since it is friggin natural. Christians need to wake up--your religion is completely illogical. Unfortunately, people believe this stuff because they are taught it when they are so young that they cannot think outside the box and are too stubborn to believe what is fact.

If you're talking about the god of the Bible then the answer is simple:

He's impotent. He has no real power and He is always having to send humans or angels to do His dirty work. I mock him all the time and the worst He's done is give me athlete's foot. As far as I know, it might not have even been His doing. ;)

Because God is a patient God, slow to anger. Christians were warned by Christ Jesus that this would happen. Doesn't make it right, they attacked Christ himself, but we should expect it and respond as Christ Jesus did.

God promised Christians misery and that we would be mocked, beaten, and put to death for our beliefs. Why would he go back on his word?

Actually the Bible foretold that we would be mocked and hated. It just proves the Bible is correct. Peace
