A lot of people hire someone to do everything for their wedding - flowers, centerpieces, etc. Or they buy them ready made from a store. But it seems more and more people are making things themselves.

What have you made for your wedding?

Using a professional graphic design program, I made the
save-the-dates, the invitations, the thank-you cards, the programs, the placecards, and part of the favors. I also made our version of a guest book, which was large flowering tree, with tags on ribbons for the guests to write a wish and tie it to the tree. As much I would have liked to, I cannot sew or work with flowers so I left all that to the pros. I know my limitations! But I had a lot of fun making things.

We're making the centerpieces, the invitations, the place cards, the programs, the thank-you cards, the favors, and my veil. I had considered doing the bouquets, too, but decided that I'd have enough to do the day before/of the wedding, and didn't need the hassle for the little bit I'd save. Do what you're comfortable with. Sometimes it's worth it to pay someone to take care of details when you don't have the time or expertise to do it yourself.

My wedding had a lot of stuff that I made. My maid of honor and I made all the bridesmaid purses, I made the flower girls basket and ring bearers pillow. I had a few friends and family come over and help make our favors and centerpieces and a huge money saver was I ordered flowers online in bulk and my sisters and friends helped arrange them. We did the bouquets, corsages, boutiners, cake flowers, altar flowers and everyother flower used during the wedding. It doesnt take a lot of work just look at pictures and be creative

We are making pretty much everything ourselves. My mom is a prefessional cake decorator and also does floral arrangements. So I will be helping her with those 2 things. We are making my centerpieces. We are preparing most of the food, but ordering a few select food items. My favors are being decorated by us. The wedding and reception decor will be our creation. I am making my own invitations and magnetic save the date cards. I'm sure I have forgotten something that I am supposed to be working on... So yea...I'm a busy little bride!

When I first got engaged, I was super gung ho about the idea of making things myself, then the larger the guest list grew and the bigger the wedding party got, I kinda threw that idea out the window. DIY for 200 guests seems like a bad idea to me (at least if I plan on keeping my sanity). We're finding other ways to cut costs and to make our wedding unique. I might still do a few things myself. I'm planning on making a box for the cards to put on the gift table, and I'm making my bridesmaids pearl necklaces and earrings as part of their gifts. I decided to leave the floral, cake, food and photography to the professionals though. I'd rather pay for the services (knowing how easily stressed I get) than have to freak out about getting everything made and organized in time. I think for smaller weddings its a great idea, but for me it wasn't worth the hassle.

The centerpieces, decorations, floral arrangements, veil, garters, bouquets. Reception food and desserts. Everything but the cake for the reception. A personal seamstress for my dress and store bought the bridesmaids dresses. Got the tuxes and fg and rb attire offline. Rented the Grooms and groomsmens attire. Used a family member to use my DJ equipment for the music and constructed my own dance floor

Wow - we did a lot for our wedding when we got married.

With thelp of family & friends, we did ALL the flowers (church, bouquets, corsages & boutennieres), our centerpieces (which the hall liked so much, they bought off of us), decorations for cake & cookie table (again, the hall bought), the card box, our wedding favors, thank-you gifts for flower girls & ring bearers, centerpieces & favors for shower, pew bows...

I designed and made/am making my save-the-dates, invitations, centerpieces, table runners, place cards, church programs, and table numbers (with pictures of our dogs). Some of this is done to be cost effect, but mostly because I really enjoy making things.

I have left the more difficult stuff to professionals, including the flowers, photography, and cake.

I am currently in the process of making tags for the mini lanterns that will be both the table numbers for the guests (their names on the tags and what table they'll sit at) and their take home favors. I thought I'd hate doing it because I'm not really crafty, but man! they've turned out great! I'm shocked! I don't think I'll be making anything else though. Cute question.

Well my friend made my bridesmaid dress and my daughter's flower girl dress. He also made my bouquet and my cake which was 3 tiers. We also did all of the decorations ourselves(it was an outside wedding). All of it was so beautiful. The wedding w/o my dress was around $300.
