that you shouldn't seek different opinions and try to figure out what is correct, if that's possible? Should we remain silent about information simply because it goes against what others believe to be true?

Have a great day!

I'm asking this just in general. I think some people of all beliefs or no belief are guilty of this. "Attack" is just such a ridiculous word to use considering there are real physical attacks taking place around the world. But specifically, I was recently told I'm trying to "humiliate" Islam and this person hoped Allah would show me what happens to disbelievers. That was nice! But to be fair, I've seen Christians, atheists, JWs, etc. react badly too, it's just that particular comment that prompted my question.

Deke - I'm a Christian and that quote you gave is scary! I have no doubt some people actually believe it, but I don't and I know God told us to seek knowledge. It doesn't have to negate your faith!

I am a Christian and Catholic which is all one in the same. You asked a good question. No one should have to feel that they have to be silent on anything. How are we to learn and to respect any ones belief and it not be the brunt of someone who answers in this category and they use it just to hurt someone else and then laugh about it. A personal Belief system should never be held against anyone. Judge not lest ye be judged. That one line is a powerful one and it is one that I follow. I don't make fun of you so what gives you the right to make fun of me? Don't remain silent for anyone, I know I sure don't and if they don't like it, they can just walk away.
This is a question that has been needed for here especially. Thank-You and you have a great day also!!

NOW how are you able to contemplate THIS AN attack perception, know-how and epistemology the dating between perception and information is diffused. Believers in a declare many times say that they recognize that declare. for occasion, people who have self belief that the solar is a god will report that they recognize that the solar is a god. even nonetheless, the words perception and information are used otherwise by ability of philosophers. Epistemology is the philosophical learn of know-how and perception. a many times happening subject for epistemology is exactly what's mandatory to be sure that us to have know-how. In a theory derived from Plato's communicate Theaetetus, philosophy has traditionally defined know-how as justified real perception. the dating between perception and information is that a perception is know-how if the perception is real, and if the believer has a justification (lifelike and unavoidably achieveable assertions/information/preparation) for believing that's real. A fake perception isn't seen to be know-how, even no count if that's hassle-free. A hassle-free believer interior the flat earth theory does no longer recognize that the Earth is flat. in addition, a actuality that no-one believes isn't know-how, simply by fact with a view to be know-how, there must be some guy or woman who's conscious it. Later epistemologists have questioned the "justified real perception" definition, and a few philosophers have questioned no count if "perception" is a sensible theory in any respect.

Because unfortunately a lot of religion does not promote freedom of thought, its only through questioning and hearing others views that we can truly grow spiritually. Through freedom of speech and thought we question more and most religions have little proof of their beliefs other then books written many many moons ago and as science gains more knowledge it undermines these writings as they were written by man with the knowledge of its time, and its relevance to the modern day becomes less and less the more we learn. This cost religion not only believers who are finding a different paths to follow but also effects their wealth.

Also its down to human ego where we all believe we are right, and causes last word syndrome, everyone wants the last word!

I don't think that Christians feel that you should not question or seek answers. Maybe the people who responded in a way that you did not like were not really Christians or maybe they were very immature Christians, or maybe they were reacting to some statement that really was inflammatory. Don't know, but I do know that Christians seek answers and try to understand.

A question is supposed to be a way to discover new understanding. Most of the questions on here are pretty loaded. I certainly wouldn't use this forum to search for information on such an important aspect in life.

I agree. It is healthy to express beliefs and opinions. But, there are blatant attacks. Like when Protestants say Catholics worship Mary; it's the same old pathetic attack. They must surely know this is not the truth by now.

Promoting the "we're so persecuted" fantasy is part of how some religions attract and retain adherents. Everyone wants to feel heroic.

When Christians whine about having been attacked, it's really just the adult version of a kid dressing up as Superman and pretending to fly around the room.

The Churchers openly say, "Lean not to your own understanding but to the word of God."

So, there goes the doctrine of free will. You have free will, but you're being tested to see if you will freely give it up and be enslaved by notions that you are not allowed to think about. And on top of all of this, you're to believe that this is LOVE!

Sounds like the Stockholm Syndrome if you ask me.
