I love my charger. I am fan of the original chargers as well but I must say being a family man.....this is one bad sedan :)

I have the R/T with the 5.7 Hemi and this has lots of power to place with decent gas mileage considering the size of the car and what it is....a V8 monster :) Wife had an 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and my Charger got about the same gas mileage and I think was even a little better on longer trips. She now drives an 2005 Magnum RT.

The Chrysler LX platforms are great cars (300, Magnum, Charger).

I'm a fan of the old 60's and 70's Chargers myself, but I'm not too worked up about the use of the name on the '06- Charger. Hey at least it's rear wheel drive and has a Hemi available, which is truer to form than Chevy recycling the "Impala" nameplate for a warmed-over Lumina. Anyway, it seems to be a very practical and badass-looking car, and you'd appreciate the 4 doors if you ever have to haul around more than one person. The reliability of certain parts (e.g. the transmission) seems to be questionable, but they do have a lifetime powertrain warranty on the new models now. The old Chargers were classy. The new ones, a disappointment. If you need four doors, get the Magnum or Chrysler 300, (all the same car underneath). If not, and you have your heart set on a Chrysler product, wait for the Dodge Challenger to return in 2008. That will be a great car! If you don't have your heart set on a Chrysler product, (or can't get a discount on one), then buy a Ford or higher-level GM car. Much more reliable.

if you want a charger i would wait till the 2009 models come out, the style is much better then the 2007-2008 ones.

the new chargers are good cars and dependable cars ,but i was kind of disappointed when they came out with it in a 4 door version,a true charger wouldn't be considered a 4 door car,but they are good cars, and hold up really well,i think the better one will be the challenger when they come back out with it,its not going to be 4 door car and will be a real sports car,the chargers are good cars, just not most peoples style ,for those who remember the real chargers ,this is not close to one, good luck with it.

i own a 2006 Charger R/T with the Road & Track Package (essentially a Daytona minus the cheesy graphics).

i would buy it again in a heart beat, my only regret would be that i didnt get the SRT8.

buy it, you will love it.
