Earthly friendship is a two way street. Friendship is being there for one another. Friendship is not judging each other. Friends are not backbiters (talking about one another behind each others backs) Friendship is giving and not expecting anything in return. Friendship is forgiving. True friendship is accepting each other in our imperfections. A true friend will stand up for you.

Friendship is a comfortable association/alliance with another creature exhibiting at least animal level intelligence in which experiences are shared and trust is earned and rewarded with further companionship. Among opposite (or sometimes the same) sexes, friendship can lead to a heightened form of sexual attraction known as "love" in the colloquial. If mutual, this can lead to partnerships that tend to permeate a new kind of friendship into the life of each of the partners. It should be noted that these kinds of associations or attractions usually take place within the same species.
