Is there such a job as mortgage adviser in Turkey? Do you use mortgages to purchase houses or do most of you rent? Just curious :)

Ian - when I first left school I worked in a debt recovery call centre for TV licensing - I can only imagine the abuse you used to get!

Can't tell you or I'll have to shoot you :))
...and yes, you are nosey :D
EDIT : I usually don't mind thumbs down but I really wonder what is the reason that I get TWO THUMBS DOWN in each answer I give, serious or joking like this one.
Whoever you are, please be honest and explain to me- either here or via my e-mail.

Back in the 1980's my job was so dangerous I could not tell even my family what I did. That's history now. I designed and maintained TV detector vans in the UK. They were used to detect licence evaders.
I saw sense and became a planning engineer for the mobile phone system again in the UK
Now semi-retired but do part time work for a company converting Police accident photos to digital format.

You only want to hear my current job? How boring.
From 1992 until now:
DJ, Graphic Designer, High School Algebra teacher, Stay-At-Home Dad, US Army Soldier (Arabic linguist), US Army Officer
Life continues to be a grand adventure. One of these days I'll find something that puts together all those skills in one job.

I am a teacher trainer/English teacher.
edit. mortgage system has recently started in Turkey. In Cyprus, we don't have that but building companies make it rather easy to buy. After a downpayment, you can have 10-15 years to pay your debt. When I bought my apt. flat, they gave me only 6 years (I paid it all in 3). I had paid 8,000 UK pounds first and then 500 each month. Thanks to Tansu Ãiller, due to high inflation interest rates for Turkish Lira went up to 115% p.a. So I took the interest each month and converted it to UK pounds. It was a clever thing to do.
