You need a specialist product called Em Clean which is a mold killer for leather. It works very well and does not damage the leather. You cannot just clean mold off leather you need to kill the spores otherwise it will keep coming back.

The Em Clean may need a couple of goes depending on the type of leather you have.

The best thing to use for leather is a solution of 1 cup denatured alcohol to 1 cup water. You need to be careful not to damage the leather or remove the dye, so anything stronger would be risky. After you have cleaned the sofa with the solution let it air dry in the sun for a day or two. Hot sun will kill any remaining mold. If you live in a cold or wet climate the best you can do is let it dry in a well ventilated room, preferably with a heat source and a couple of fans blowing on it.

Buy a good leather cleaner like Dubbin etc. and completely polish off the mold. When the weather gets really cold put the sofa outside on a covered porch and the frost and cold should help eliminate the smell. Or you could tuck fabric softner sheets down under the cushions then your guests would only smell there scent not the mold.
