To the best of my knowledge though... Chairman Mao didn't have facial hair.... and neither does Kim Jong-Il.
And Darwin wasn't too nasty, but he had a beard...

Facial hair and hair length are styles that change over time. There is no correlation between hair style and trustworthiness.
Also, Hitler had a tiny mustache, not a beard.
