I know exactly where you coming from. What annoys me is that it looks lovely clean and tidy and within a half an hour can be back at square one again. You wonder why you bothered. I think I would go with answer 1.....sit down and have a glass of wine instead, let some one else worry bout cleaning up.

Don't look at the house as a job, the house is your sanctuary and you want it to feel and look nice, take one room at a time and don't think of the other rooms until you have finished that first one, put some music on, redecorating the house or one room sometimes helps keep the interest on the house, are you depressed? if you think you are you should s your doctor as one of the symptoms is not having force or courage to do cleaning.
all the best

housework is not a priority when you have small children - a messy (not dirty) house is indicative of a happy, uninhibited family
as long as you hoover, dust and have clean surfaces, dont worry. toys on the floor, ironing not done, a few dishes in the sink are more normal than you think

Well...try turning up the music to your favorite CD or radio station while doing household work. I know it gets me in the mood to get up. You can try to think positive about it and you'll be able to roam free the rest of the day knowing your doing with chores!

I saw this website.... flylady.com, she has a system for cleaning, so that you take one step at a time and do not become overwhelmed. IT's pretty cool. You can relax better after everything is clean. Maybe call a friend that you haven't talked to in a while and chat while you clean. One of my girlfriends and I used to always "clean" together on the phone.

Just think how happy your husband or boyfriend will be when he comes home from work to a clean house and dinner on the table.

right i would say if you do your houusework you will make your partner happy when he comes home from work which is less likely to make him feel crap when he comes home, a happy husband happy home. Also, once its done you will feel better in yourself and if you get visitors it wont be a pig sty. Its also a bit of a work out always good especially if you are sitting eating a chocolate biscuit like me. :) put some music on nice and loud and it will make you want to move that in its self is motivation

Lol you should have my horrible health visitor. She came round today and told me that my house smelt of dogs! (We have two dogs.)
I was so mortified I gave the place a complete top to toe scrubbing.
I really hate that rude woman!

How about this one? Housework burns calories (quite a few if you go hard), so if you go all out, it won't take long, you'll have a nice clean house, and because you did all that exercise you can sit back and relax with some chocolate! :=D
