I don't think that's going to happen. The hotter the earth gets, the more Polar Caps melt which conducts as a mirror for harmful UV rays and for temperature of the ocean(freak storms, Ice Age, etc. The point is if something don't happen we might be living in the underground and hope it that doesn't collapse either...(Joke,punchline,funny).....ha who cares.
@Agt Scully, Jeallybean , Balroth you're all right the earth will become unable to habitat. I answered an question awhile back and stated this...." the earth will eventually get so hot that we'll have to move to underground" and it's happening right now. Ex. when was ever 80 degrees in Memphis(where I live), in the winter!

No, the world will not collapse. The worst that will happen is that the atmosphere will become inhabitable.
The earth naturally warms up and cools down over millions of years anyway so it could just be part of a natural cycle. The effects of humans on this planet is just speeding up the process.

no The world is in a constant state of flux. Global warming despite what you may hear is not a confired fact but the theory of the day. IN the 70,s the theory was we were going back into an ice age. see the front page of Time

Earth is in no danger of collapse. Life is a thin green smear on the surface and that is in more danger. The Earth will hardly notice.
