Yes, most definitely but that depends on the circumstance and your definition of "hold".
eg. I can technically hold a tarantula because my hand's big enough.
eg. I can hold it with a pair of tweezers.
eg. I can hold one with my bare hands - if it's venom was removed.

certainly, but I'd need some help. If the guy bringing out the tarantula to me could just place the thing in m,y hand after I die of fear, would that count?

I saw one in the Florida Everglades that had a body so big it covered the center line on the road. Since I did not want it jumping up on the van, I drove on the shoulder. Hold one? Nope! (Unless I wanted to turn into Spiderman)

Yeah, I did, a few years ago. I don't mind spiders too much, although I was shaking as I did it. It was, as I recall, a red-kneed tarantula, who never bite so they don't need their fangs removed or whatever happens. I'm open to correction on that. It was pretty cool, but I was terrified he'd run up my arm - have you ever seen how fast they run???

Yeah, they make pretty good pets believe it or not. Pet shops used to sell them for pets.
