Hey, everybody calm down. This is a routine part of a pelvic exam.
I am including a link that describes a pelvic exam, step by step. At the end, it says, "After bimanual palpation, the examiner palpates the rectovaginal septum by inserting the index finger in the vagina and the middle finger in the rectum."

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and an ex nurse and i can you that your Doctor is being very thorough, she was doing what is known as 'palpating, you can tell a lot of what is going on in the front of your body by examining the rear end.But i do agree that she should have warned you that she was going to do it. I suggest that you go back and ask her why, do not try a malpractice suit,Doctors have a nasty habit of 'closing rank'No doctor would perform such an exam if they could be liable for a law suit. This is female Doctor NOT a male, so what possible reason would a female doctor have for performing such an examination.Believe me she had her reasons, be thankfull she's a good Doctor. It bothers me til no end that you are being given answers such as "the doctor is a perv" or that you were a "victim of rape". Many are apparently very uneducated about the gyn exam, for the most part.
This is a totally normal part of the exam. Some gyns don't do it, but many DO.

Yes, he should have done it to the rectum (the vaginal part is a normal part of the exam) if he felt that something might be wrong like a mass. Normally, most doctors don't do that in the rectum to younger women but will if they find something wrong or unless she asks for it. So please ask more questions about why he did it so that if there is something wrong you can document in your personal medical records file at home.

He shouldnt have done that. You were the victim of, well rape, I guess you would call it. Call the authorities. There is no real reason for the doctor to have done that once the speculum came out. Unless, you are an older patient and there is a risk of vaginal cancer. Most vaginal cancers will move into the rectum. But I think that you were inappropriately touched.
