In most of the countries land belongs to the State.You own the land similar to permanent lease,including right to sell,by paying property tax to the State.Any natural resources like petroleum,gold etc found becomes property of the State.State may acquire land after paying compensation.Assuming meteorite having huge sale value,it is the property of the State,ie the State only can sell it.Please check up the law prevailing in your country/state.

If a large meteorite will hit against Earth it will b catastrophic...some pieces bigger than ur hand have been found in Antarctica....if u find 1 it's urs 2 keep/sell (depending if is NOT private property) ...it sells by weight.

Yeah, I would say its yours. Some are very valuable. Check Ebay, I`ve seen them for sale there.
