If a writer writes a part in a film the character has to have the right feel and approach for that part. The chosen person has to be able to show they have the feel and understanding to suit the part.

Casting is the second most important thing for a successful film or play. A good script is first. If the actors are not believable as the characters, you got a bomb.

Casting is so important in films since the producers need actress/actors who can do the character well. It's such a waste of time to see someone who has not felt the emotion of the character playing. Those actress/actors have to felt the emotion and even BE the character so the spectator can really understand or felt the emotion of the character. And not everyone can do it…. unless you are the person who like to fake to others.
C’mon, would you scared with people who only give you an angry faces without their angry emotion?

for the simplest reason that if you cast the wrong person for a particular role, then your original perspective/plan for the movie gets screwed up...well not necessarily..it can get better or worse but the point is the outcome or the impression you wanted to come from the movie becomes different

They want to make sure that a skinny useless ugly tosspot DOES NOT save the world before marrying the beauty with the nice bottom and pretty face.
They don't want the guy with muscles bigger than my wit and sarcasm to get beaten up at school.

What comes to my mind, is if you had a hunky action hero and they cast, say, Boy George, would I believe it or laugh my a-- off.
