are there any tips so that the seam does not show? I'm using stretchy metallic pink fabric and I'm going to be putting it over knee high boots.

There will have to be some type of seam in order to put it together, but I understand you want to "hide" the seam. I am assuming the boot covers are sewn together without a fastener like zippers or Velcro, with just a seam down the back.

I looked at a Sailor Moon coloring page to see who she was and what her boots look like.

My first thought is to take the boot fabric and wrap it around your boot so that there is no true seam? The edges of your fabric could be piped in contrasting color and swirl around your leg. You can use Velcro or snaps to hold it in place.

If you have a seam in place, you could use a narrow ribbon or fabric and lace the boot in criss-cross manner like Egyptian sandals and tuck the ends inside your boot. It would add enough interest to draw your eyes away from the seam.

You can use contrasting fabric to make something similar to the lightening bolts in the picture and cover the seam with part of the design. Again, you can use Velcro or snaps to place the "lightening" bolts on top of the metallic pink fabric or you can sew them in place with a small zig zag stitch applyied here and there to hold it on. You may be able to find Aleene's applique glue (or equivalent fabric glue) to attach the design, but the stretchy fabric may make it difficult to keep it glued on.

Another thought would be to use fabric paints and paint a design over the pink fabric.

Use elastic under the arch of your foot to attach the cover to the top of your boots and hold the cover down.

Good luck with your costume!

Yea darlin, sew in a zipper at the seam....so it looks like the pink cover is the actual boot. For the top you just fold it over and tack on. And I'd have to see the bottom for advice there, but I'm sure you got it under control.
