No, viruses are a tricky bunch. Until they find a host cell they do very little and are just kind of packages of genetic material. They infect their host cells and then get energy to produce proteins and replicate from that cell's respiratory machinery.

No, viruses do not carry on usual cell processes because they are not made of cells. Viruses don't use energy either.
