hi peeps

i got a question .. i am sure most of you have seen fake stuff aka counterfit purses and etc being sold all over the world. So here is my question.. what would be the difference if the people who make them or run the operation put a brand or just a random name on the tag? I know according to the law.. it is not illegal to buy fake stuff but it is illegal to sell them. any views on this topic?

i am NOT asking SHOULD one buy or not buy an authentic.. i am asking this because yesterday on Tyra, Tyra said that non-authentic/counterfitted stuff funds terrorism. so AGAIN, here is the question for people whose comprehension level is C level and higher Let's say the same people who produce fake purses or whatever create almost an exact purse or whatever with a different label which is not used by anyone else wouldnt that be funding the terrorism? According to a copyright law, if you make 7 or more changes to an item, the design is yours.

I understand the question. You question gets right to the core of why people make and buy counterfeits. Let's look at the manufacturer's line of thought and work through to the consumer. They need a way to make plenty of money, minimal investment, and something that fills a want in many people. Ninety percent of us realize that counterfeit is a crime and that a fake is tacky and cheap. But then there's that ten percent who don't care, who want the name and the status connected to the name, they don't care about quality, as long as they get what they desire as cheaply as possible. (Interesting sidebar, people who see nothing wrong with fakes are also those who are too stingy to buy real and feel it's their right to get what they want when they want and not have to pay full price.) The counterfeiters see the need and they fill it. Ethics and morality means nothing.

The problem is: if they did put an altogether different brand label on them, such as say..."high class Handbags" instead of "chanel" or "prada" or LV" then there would be no demand for them. These people feed on greed, theirs for selling over priced plastic junk for a small fortune, and the greed of the buyer; thinking that because they have a "status" bag that somehow they are different and more special than those who carry a bag with the mundane label "hi class handbag" Without the label, most buyers wouldn't be interested, without the label, they couldn't charge twice as much. Without the label, there's no market. It becomes a vicious circle of greed. It's a variation on the theme of supply and demand, people demand the fakes, they supply them.

There are manufacturers in china and other places who do sell very nice bags from good quality materials for less than premium prices, and many buyers toss them aside as they go looking for the status brand. These makers are simply factories who make bags. They are interested in producing a product that makes money for the factory and the workers.

There is no reason for the counterfeiters to name them something else, the designer name is an integral part of the scheme. They are selling the brand name, not the bag. As the old cliché, they are selling the sizzle without the steak.

My opinion is... if you can afford an authentic one, then don't waste your money on a fake. You are paying for quality and the name, none of which a fake can offer.

People can tell fake purses from authentic ones. and if you are getting one to look cool, you still aren't cool because you don't have an authentic one...

You will just look stupid if someone finds out about you lying about authenticity.

I hate fakes.... will never own one.... all mine are 100% authentic...

I have no idea about the terrorism part. What I know is that in some countries, like in Italy for example, you will be fined if you are caught wearing imitation designer items.

They make soy cheeses for vegans, yet i can not permit you recognize in the event that they're stable or no longer. Are you ALLERGIC to take advantage of, or in basic terms lactose illiberal? simply by fact if that's lactose intolerance, there are OTC meds for that.

It's better to purchase comething nice and unique from a lesser known brand than by fakes.
