i'm 16 and i believe women and men should wait till they are 18 to start dating they will have a better perspective of life by that time ! look at children who dated before they turned 18 like vannesa hugdgins or what ever her name is she dated and look what happened to her she possed for a boy naked ! i believe if she would have waited she would have had more respect for her self and not have done that . I am all for men and woman being more mature before they start dating. It seems the ages are getting younger and younger for teens to date and start having adult relationships.
It is evident by some of the questions on YA, that most of the teens don't know about or understand birth control, or what is or is not right with their bodies. Being older I still have issues with finding good , healty relationships. I think it is important to remember that at 18 a man can be asked to fight for his country, so I guess he should be able to date before that happens, LOL. I guess I think 16 would be a good age to start dating for both sexes. We push our kids to grow up to fast in many areas, this is just one of them. I'd like to see them be able to grow up alittle slower and enjoy just being young, before the real world hits them.

I think it's okay for "girls" to date before they are 18, so long as they ago about it responsibly. I started dating at 15, and I turned out okay. It's important for young women to find themselves, and dating is one way to go about it! As scary as it may be for the parent, they have to understand that their little girls aren't going to be "girls" forever. They need to discover how the world works in order to be successful adults.

Not 18, I think that is to late, I think 16ish is good. I dont think anything serious of course, but i think it will help their social skills, and they wont be so nervous or awkward around men, when they are older.

I told my daughters they had to be 40. But my husband let them date at 16.

I don't think you can generalize... but a lot of girls younger than 18 are in way over their heads I think.

It depends who they are dating. If it's someone older, then they shouldn't date. If it's someone the same age then it's fine.
