This might seem like a strange question but I often feel like a very small part of this world and a part of me just wants to know everybody and everything.

As I sit in this chair typing there are so many people sleeping, eating, making business deals, getting married, losing their life at every second and I will never get to know them. That truely saddens me because I realize how small the reach of one human being is.

Im assuming the practical answer is to get involved and help people around me and try to touch as many lives as I can. But what about the people who dont want to be touched.

THe people you walk past everyday on the sidewalk, and you see at a Bar, or on the corner just hanging out and you walk past them. You could have ten or fifteen friends but when your out at night, and you see hundreds of young people like you, women and men sitting around which will never have a chance to meet you. Most people are busy and they prob cant handle more people anyway.

Watch "Its a Wonderful Life", you'd be surprised at how many people you touch that you may never have known.

Do you realize that just being a tax paying consumer who works, you are helping many many other people?

In the grand scheme of things we are all very small and insignificant. Mankind has ruled earth for a mere few hundred thousand years, compared to the dinosaurs around 150 million years of rule.

Besides this, we are all connected to each other and every other thing in the universe. We are part of it, and it is part of us. If you had never existed, everyone you've ever met, or even people who have only glanced at you, would not have lead their lives as fully as they have, because everything would have been different.

Without us humans thinking about life (including you) there would not really be any knowledge, or a concept of time. As humans we become too self obsessed and require immediate gratification involving a sense of meaning. We should all learn to be a little more humble for we are none of us the center of the universe and it does not exist for us. However, the concept would not exist without us.

a person stays within their own circle of friends for a purpose, usually it's for safety reasons. Sometimes, and a person never knows in advance of when it happens, a person is asking for trouble in trying to get to know certain people, or to pull some shy ones out to know about them. But joining legitimate organizations will widen your sphere. In reality a person can only make so many friends, or otherwise they will take up all your time that you can't have a life of your own, and your own life would go downhill. So it's better to pick and choose and have only a few or a few. A person is lucky if they have one true friend throughout their life. The rest just come an go, and most are really just acquaintances. If you have an urge for people to know "you" then choose some career where you will be giving speeches and talks. If you have an urge to help people, then get a job like in nursing or in entertainment, travel, politics. Watch what career you choose as you want to make sure that you make money using this interest and skill rather than just volunteering.

Yeha I feel that way but it's more like the world is passing me by, not so much I'm worried about being only a fractal of the human population and on the atomic level when you perspective the entire universe into it

Dear fren why you feel so small compared to the rest of the world? Because of you are can't see them or can't mingle with them or can't meet them or can't touch them etc. If you can do what i say above, that means you are god.. We only have certain power to live in this world. You can't go beyond that.. When you are can't do all that, your are already have limitation in your life... When i say limitation automatically you become so small compared to the rest of the world. Furthermore you are not longer in this world, one day we all going to leave this world... we are leaving in this world just for temprory basis... our life is so short, thats why you feel so small compared to the rest of the world...

Yeah we're all very small, though some of us don't realize it and believe they're terrible important...I don't believe interfering with other peoples' life is a solution, that would still live me small and unimportant, so why the hell bother with those that don't want to be bothered...
