Its normal. Some bleed for months, some have periods, and some don't bleed at all. The only thing in common most women have is horrible side affects and health risks due to depo.

Please reconsider the shot.

You may never stop bleeding. Depo has some nasty side effects for LOTS of women. Being a nurse and seeing and reading about what has happened to other I would never personally ever recommend the depo shot for anyone. Call your doc and discuss this with him but you may have to put up with the bleeding until the shot wears out of your body which can take up to a year or more. There is no way to tell.

I bled for 6 months on depo and they were heavy so i stopped having it.I then tried a mirena coil and that was great it completely lightened and shortened my periods.
